Dogs can tell you everything about their health.

It's in their DNA.

Genetic background can influence health, physical traits, and even behavior.

Canine wellness DNA testing is a DNA test offered exclusively through veterinary hospitals that identifies genetic traits in dogs and gives you information that will help anticipate health issues and offer individualized preventive care. It’s much more than an ounce of prevention — it’s a lifetime of improved health.

What is genomics?

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) contains the genetic code, or sequence of an individual. While the majority of DNA in each dog is the same (that’s what makes a dog a dog), there are variations in the DNA which result in each individual’s unique physical characteristics. These variations in base pairs are called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).Canine wellness DNA testing results are based on these variations in the DNA.

How does it work?

STEP ONE

A simple, non-invasive cheek swab is collected during a veterinary exam visit.

STEP TWO

Sample kit is sent to NEOGEN Genomics for processing.

STEP THREE

Results are reviewed by the veterinarian and recommendations shared with the client.
